"The Times They are A-Changin"
March 11th, 2008 7:52 AM
"The Times They are A-Changin"-- Bob Dylan may have wrote this folk song classic about a volatile time in American History, but the same can be said about today's real estate market.  In my part of the world, the real estate market is still very strong and has not seen the problems Florida, California, Ohio, Michigan, and others have seen.  But changes are taking place because guidelines are set for the whole nation.  Markets go up and markets go down, they are very cyclical.  We just happen to be in the down turn of the cycle.  But do not let that worry you, there will always be a need for housing and until everyone can pay cash for a house there will be a lending market.  What home buyers need to do is work with professionals.  Work with a professional Realtor to find and guide you through the home search.  Work with a professional lender, one that will "shoot you straight" and that keeps up with the changes.  A good professional will keep you involved the whole way through.

Welcome to March
March 3rd, 2008 7:04 AM

Welcome to March!

If you live in my part of the world you had a beautiful weekend.  Many times the warm weather gets people out looking at houses.  The great weather may be what gets you out to see the house, but there are many other things that makes right now a great time to buy.  Rates are great, many sellers are willing to give seller concessions to help sell a house, and most of the Southeast has been sheltered from all the mess going on in real estate.  If you are thinking about buying a house, don't wait for the "perfect day" outside.  Call North Alabama Mortgage today. 256-762-3466.

Mortgage Rates
February 26th, 2008 12:29 PM

Mortgage interest rates change daily, and in some instances change multiple times a day. The scary thing is many lenders/brokers do not know how mortgage interest rates are determined. Many are under the assumption that mortgage rates are tied to the Federal Reserve. The fact is fixed mortgage rates are tied to a market; more specifically, the bond market, because mortgages are securitized by bonds. Any piece of economic data can make bond prices go up or down. When this happens mortgage rates will change.

Is your lender, keeping up with the economy? Does your lender even know where to look? Do you want to risk getting the best rate to one that doesn’t know where to be looking? Use a lender you can trust. Call North Alabama Mortgage today!

Welcome to Florence Mortgage Center's Blog
February 6th, 2008 7:50 AM

Hi, my name is Lee Medley, a mortgage broker at North Alabama Mortgage. With this blog I want to keep you informed with local real estate issues. If you are like me and a lot of the people I speak with, you probably find it easy to get caught up in what the nation's real estate is doing. Well, the southeast for the most part has not been like the rest of the nation, especially Alabama. Did you know that 2007 was the 3rd best year on record for real estate for Alabama? It’s true, and 2008 is looking even better. Don’t buy into everything you hear. Speak to a professional that will shoot your straight. I hope you come back and use this tool as a way to debunk some of the rumors flying around about real estate. Please be patient with me as this is my first blog, but I will try to keep this as interesting as possible.

Thanks again for visiting.
